In the beginning, they’re all exciting and new, but then after enough of them it’s, “Got it… got it… meh… meh… ooh!” I’ll say this for the whole Star Wars experience, in my ripe older age, there’s something about tearing open a pack of those cards and feeling the thrill of seeing what’s inside. One of my former childhood classmates once saw a picture of me doing the meet ‘n greet thing with Kylo Ren at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and he exclaimed, “You will NEVER change!” And his point…? I have completely given in to the fact that Star Wars will always be woven into the fabric of my very being. I want to say it was 8 cards for $1 back then, plus a sticker, plus a stick of highly questionable gum. The dollar store version nets you 4 for $1, which if I remember correctly is worse(?) than when the original movie came out. Thanks to my special relationship with Dollar Tree, in that I like the fact everything (mostly) is $1 each, I discovered that they’re still making Star Wars trading cards.
